The Burren Storehouse

The Burren Storehouse is the brandnew music and food venue, a place to watch sport events and more right next door to the Roadside Tavern! It was inaugurated in May 2015 when the Burren Slow Food Festival Banquet was held here.

There is a string of gigs lined up for the summer and autumn months of 2016, so watch out for those on our Live Music page!

We are offering great food in the Burren Storehouse:
Wood-fired artisan pizzas with amazing toppings; chargrilled foods from our indoor charcoal grill - the menu changes every night but it is always locally sourced ingredients like fish, shellfish, artisan local meats and poultry.

We also have a variety of cocktails on offer! And of course fresh from the microbrewery, the Burren Brewery, next door: Burren Black, Burren Gold and Burren Red.

Charity Dinner in aid of local Alzheimer Charity

On Thursday, 6th October 2016, the Burren Storehouse in conjunction with the Burren Smokehouse will be hosting a dinner dubbed #SightForHungryEyes, the net income of which will go to the Clare branch of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland. Mark this day in your diary as it will be not only a culinary event. Chef and owner of La Giacoma, Cristina Giacomelli, and Luciano Tona will prepare what they call a ‘Splash dish’, i.e. a dish that symbolises the spirit of the project, generally a starter using local produce, while the local chef - our onw Viv Kelly from Kieran's Kitchen - decides on the rest of the menu. For this dinner, we can expect a delicious and surprising Irish-Italian menu.

During the evening Manuela Spinelli, who brought the project to Ireland, and Luciano will introduce the project, and guests will have the opportunity to purchase a pair of glasses, specifically designed by La Giacoma.

The net income from the sale of the glasses will be donated to the Clare branch of the Alzheimer Society. More information as to how this combination of food and glasses came about can be found on the Eventbrite page.

The dinner is a ticketed event in the Burren Storehouse, the fabulous and welcoming new venue next to the Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare. The price is €60 per per person including the wine, and can be booked on Eventbrite.

If you are interested in food, in a wholesome approach to same and in the philosophy behind real food, then this event is a Must for you. This is the first event of its kind.

Three emerging and Michelin-star chefs are going to converge in Lisdoonvarna's Burren Storehouse very soon for a spectacular evening of cookery demos, talks and food philosophy.

This full evening event will take place in the Burren Storehouse next to the Roadside Tavern on Friday, 11th March 2016, starting with a welcome drink and canapés provided by the members of the Burren Food Trail. Then Jamie Simpson will give a presentation about the Culinary Vegetable Institute (Ohio). Jamie and Enda McEvoy will then design and cook the meal that will be eaten by the 60 attendees afterwards.

Towards the end of the meal, Kevin Thornton will be holding a Question & Answer session, mc'd by John McKenna.

Some of the produce and products will be provided by the Burren Smokehouse and the Burren Brewery, and the vegetables will be shipped over from the Culinary Vegetable Institute in Ohio.

John McKenna from John and Sally McKenna's Guides and well-kown fighter for real food will be the presenter and MC of the evening which is co-organised by Birgitta Hedin Curtin and Jody Eddy, a travel writer and published author, and culinary tour organiser to name just a few of her job titles.

This high-profile, first ever and one-off event will put the Burren Storehouse, Lisdoonvarna and Ireland on the culinary world map!
